Rock Candy

 1/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
food coloring
warm water
 pencil
paper clip
small saucepan
measuring cups
fishing line
coffe mug
spoon

  1. Boil the 1/4 cup water and put in coffe mug. Add sugar and a few drops of food coloring. Mix until most of the sugar is dissolved. Let the weter cool and don't touch the mug until crystals begin to form. (could take a week or more) Cover with wax paper to keep out dirt.
  2. Carefully remove the crystal from the mug. Add a few drops of water to the mixture remaining and stir to redissolve the remaining crystals.
  3. Tie one end of fishing line to the pencil and the other end to the crystal. Use the pencil to suspend the crystal in the sugar water in the mug without it touching the sides or bottom. Leave for a few days and watch it grow.
  4. If you are having a hard time making crystals grow, try attaching a paper clip to the fishing line and suspending it in the water. You may have better luck getting the crystals to form around the paper clip.

 

Magical Trees

  1. *3 pieces of newspaper
  2. *tape
  3. *Scissors
  4. *a big area

What you do:
*Tape the three pieces of paper together with one piece of tape on each page.
*Roll up the pieces of paper (kind of tight).
*Use one piece of tape in the middle to keep it together.
*fold down half of the roll.
*cut the folded part down the center.
*now fold it the other way and cut it down the center to the same place as the other.
*hold the roll upwards with the cut pieces on the top.
*place one finger in the center and make it magically grow by pulling the center sheet up.

Frindship Sheet

This is a great way to remember your bithday with a Friendship sheet! Get a plain white sheet and a bunch of felt tip markers and lay the sheet on the floor. Have everybody sign their name and a personal message. A great way to remeber any speacial occasion.
