Funny Kid Stories ContinuedA Child's Appreciation for ArtI decided one day to go on a cultural visit to an art/object gallery with my 3 year old son. This was a very prestigious and expensive gallery with thousands of paintings and antique objects. I was very worried about him breaking something and as the well-dressed clerks followed us around the gallery, I guessed they were worried too. I pointed out some very old toys that his grandparents might have played with when they were little and antique nick-nacs and furniture. He was very quiet and looked at everything. When we were heading toward the door all of the clerks smiled and seemed quite relieved. My son's parting words which echoed through the room were "Mom, this is nothing but a room full of junk! I couldn't help but laugh but did not bother to turn around to see what the clerks thought of his assessment. Submitted by: Danielle Belden 10/23/99 The Chicken Farm My son visited his Grandmother soon after she displayed her very large Nativity Set on the top of her entertainment center. When he arrived to his Grandmother's house, the first thing he saw was her Nativity Set displayed on the cabinet. "Grandma" he replied, you have a chicken farm! Well with that, it opened the door for Grandma to sit down with her grandson and point out the baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the animals one by one. After she was through explaining the story of the birth of Jesus, my son looked at Grandma very seriously and asked: "Where's my Daddy?" (His Mom's name is Mary!) I just logged onto this site to view the color pages for my 2 year old grandson. The above story is 100% true. To this day, although my son is now 21, everytime Grandma displays her Nativity Set, she always recalls her talk about the "Chicken Farm" with her grandson! Submitted by: Mary Kari 10/21/99 Back... |
